Our Makerspace

What is the Giessen Makerspace?

Brief overview:

  • Open workshop with 3D printers, electronics & many other digital technologies
  • also: exhibition space, event location, small library, café & bar area
  • A wide range of additional introductory workshops, panel discussions, networking events and impulse evenings on digital technologies
  • Admission, the introductory courses and your first own projects are always free of charge.

In general: a makerspace is a kind of open workshop. However, our focus is clearly on digital technologies such as 3D printing, laser cutting, microelectronics and microcomputers such as the Raspberry Pi.

Our Makerspace is special. In addition to access to new technologies, we also offer a wide range of programs related to these technologies and social developments. We take a holistic view of technology and illuminate social trends relating to digitization at impulse evenings and panel discussions as well as in our exhibition.

Everyone is welcome!

You can find our program here. Important: You don’t need any previous knowledge or a ready-made idea with us. We prepare new technologies for everyone to understand. You can just come by during opening hours, take a look at our exhibition on the new technologies and take a look at our workshop or just drop by for a coffee.

Our claim

In addition to the pure technology, the social and ecological impact is also important to us. For this purpose we offer impulses, lectures, information and discussions.
